Sarpi is a small village near the border point between Georgia and Turkey, 18 km from Batumi. The seaside resort is located along the road and on the green hills, and is home to just over 800 people. The Georgian side is decorated with the Church of St. Andrew, the Turkish side is decorated with a mosque with a minaret.
It is always hectic near the border. Cars and trucks with goods pass through the checkpoints in both directions. Exchange offices, a small market, shops and an attractive casino for Turks operate nearby. At the northern end of the village and on the slopes of the mountains - peace and quiet.

The coastal current comes from Turkey. Once, while swimming in Sarpi, we saw a whole school of small jellyfish carrying from the Turkish side. A border boat is constantly on duty 100 m from the coast.
In the northern part of the beach, local boys like to jump into the water from large stones. Changing rooms with showers are located on the shore every 100-200 m, and sun loungers are rented. Unfortunately there are no toilets on the beach. The only paid toilet is located behind the shopping arcade, next to the border point.
Georgians sell fresh baked goods, boiled corn, figs, ripe berries and sliced watermelons to vacationers. During the season, Sarpi is always crowded, because, in addition to tourists, residents of Batumi and neighboring villages come here to swim.
